From the history of aojiru
Aojiru is a dark green vegetable juice, very useful for the body. Let's take a closer look at this amazing drink!
But what caused the widespread use of green juice in Japan? The prerequisite for such a wide distribution of the drink in the country was the lack of food during the Second World War.
In 1943, taking care of the health of his famine-stricken family, Dr. Jiro Endo 遠藤仁郎, former director of the Kurashiki Central Hospital in Okayama Prefecture, began using daikon radish tops thrown into the field for food.He crushed the leaves, crushed and watered the family with the prepared juice. Over time, Dr. Endo began to make juice from a variety of different types of leaves. The name of the drink "aojiru" literally "green juice" was given by the doctor's wife. So in times of famine and war, Jiro Endo was able to cure his son's pneumonia and his wife's acute nephritis with green juice. Later, his research proved the health benefits of green juice, and all types of aojiru became popular throughout the country.
