With age, the result of the glycation reaction (the interaction of glucose with proteins of the collagen fibers) in the skin accumulate harmful substances AGEs (the reaction products of glycation).
They slow down the metabolic processes in the skin, the skin ceases to receive enough nutrients and oxygen, the collagen fibers are damaged. All this leads to the formation of wrinkles. While AGEs are substances inside the skin, no cosmetics is not able to restore and rejuvenate it.
